It is located in the Khomein Industrial Park, on a 135,000 square meter plot, and was officially inaugurated on February 14, 2018, in the presence of national and provincial officials. Following the launch of its second phase in March 2023, the company’s capacity increased to 30,000 tons of ferrosilicon and 10,000 tons of microsilica annually. The company was established to supply part of the country’s ferrosilicon demand and to export the product. ”
Khomein Ferrosilicon Company was founded in 2011 with the aim of investing in the mining industry, contributing to the industrial capacity of the country, and meeting the needs of the mining and metal industries. Given the demand for ferrosilicon as a supplementary material in steel industries and national development plans, the decision to establish a production unit with a capacity of 12,000 tons per year was made in 2015.
After launching the ferrosilicon plant and achieving significant success, the company changed its name to "Khomein Ferrosilicon Company" in June 2018, having previously operated under the name Payam Hounamik.
The company is located in Markazi Province, in Khomein Industrial Town, covering an area of 135,000 square meters, with the potential to implement at least two development projects in the field of ferroalloys. It was officially inaugurated on February 14, 2018, by national and local authorities. The company established a 63/20 kV dedicated power substation to meet its electricity demands, which was efficiently utilized during the second development phase.
In March 2020, a development proposal was submitted to Shasta to increase the production capacity or switch to ferrosilicomanganese. Eventually, an 18,000-ton ferrosilicon expansion plan was approved in January 2021. This project commenced in May 2021 and was commissioned in March 2023.
As part of Shasta's requirement to list its subsidiaries in the stock market, Khomein Ferrosilicon Company became the first to be listed on Iran's OTC market (IFB) in July 2022.
By using the latest production equipment and a modern quality control laboratory, the company has successfully produced high-quality products for domestic and international markets in steel, cast iron, alloy, and foundry industries. To promote sustainable development and environmental protection, advanced dust collection systems have been implemented. Additionally, the company explored and exploited two silica stone mines in Mahallat and Shazand regions to secure a continuous supply of raw materials.
The company’s R&D department actively focuses on process improvement, energy efficiency, and increasing production efficiency, aligned with global scientific advancements and organizational goals.
