Khomein Ferrosilicon Company with an initial nominal production capacity of 12,000 tons of ferrosilicon and 4,000 tons of microsilica powder annually, located in the Khomein Industrial Town on a land area of 135,000 square meters, was inaugurated on February 14, 2018, in the presence of respected national and provincial officials. The company's nominal capacity increased to 30,000 tons of ferrosilicon and 10,000 tons of microsilica powder per year with the inauguration of the second phase in March 2023. This company was established with the goal of producing a portion of the country's ferrosilicon and exporting this product.

Microsilica powder (Microsilica, silica fume) is a by-product of ferrosilicon production in electric arc furnaces. Microsilica powder has super pozzolanic properties and is widely used in concreting related to marine structures, high strength rating structures, and all constructions exposed to chemical attacks, especially chloride and sulfate ions.

The laboratory of Khomein Ferrosilicon Company was established in 2017 on an area of approximately 130 square meters. Initially, this facility was set up to provide testing services to Khomein Ferrosilicon Company and later equipped to offer testing services to external customers. Currently, the laboratory aims to improve the quality and quantity of testing services by implementing the international ISO17025:2017 standard requirements, enhancing the credibility of test results.
Laboratory personnel are familiar with testing standards and regulations, possess the required qualifications, and receive necessary training based on the latest editions of these regulations.
